A Birthday Surprise

So my birthday was Friday and in the past many years I used to get so excited about my birthday! I would have many expectations and most of them never happened. Last year I ruined a surprise party that Neil was going to throw for me, on accident of course. So this year I gave up, wasn't expecting anything, and wasn't too excited about it.

Neil surprised me! His parents came in from Chicago to visit and I had absolutely no idea! Well I had my suspicions, but I though Neil was planning another party for me. But it was a great surprise and we had such a wonderful time.

First, the day started out pretty great. I had hurt my back 2 days before and when I woke up it was healed (thank you Jesus). So I got to play Just Dance 3 that I had bought the other day but couldn't play with the bad back. Then I cleaned up the house a little and then gave myself a little at home spa day. You know, did a body and face scrub, a hot oil treatment for my hair, and did my nails. Then I got surprised by my in-laws. Next, we went to Olive Garden in Missouri, since we had a few gift cards from Christmas. Last but not least, we went to small group where we talked about Jesus and then they sang happy birthday (for the 3 birthdays in January), and we got DQ ice cream cake (my favorite), 2 other kinds of cake, and a lovely lady in my small group gave me flowers. It was probably one of the best birthdays yet! I love my friends and family and are so thankful to have such great ones in my life!
