My Favorite Foods Right Now

 1. Chia seeds
They are full of antioxidants, fiber, and protein! I put them in smoothies and make overnight oats (probably one of the best and easiest breakfasts ever)! They are really good in a weird way. They create a jell-like consistency. You can find these at your local Whole Foods or other similar places.
 2. Cocoa powder
Also high in antioxidant its a great way to get a chocolate fix without eating a bunch of chocolate. My favorite way to use cocoa powder is by putting it in a smoothie with frozen bananas, soy, milk, chia seeds, and sometimes another frozen fruit. Or my chocolate covered bananas! Both perfect for summer.

3. Strawberries 
They are in season right now and are so delicious! We got some strawberries from our CSA last week and they were the best thing I've ever had! Shop your local farmers market to get a little piece of heaven.

4. Avocados
I have no idea why these have been my thing lately but they have! Its a good fat with lots of vitamins and minerals. They are great in salads, wraps, I put them in quinoa, you can make a quick dairy free sour cream with these too by adding a little salt and apple cider vinegar to them.

5. Asparagus
These are also in season right now and ever since my friend Mayra made some for me I have been craving it ever since. She made it so simply too. Boil or steam for 4-5 minutes and sprinkle with salt. Wa la, delish!

  1. It’s no wonder chia seeds are your favorite food! It’s packed with healthy benefits. One advantage of chia seeds is that it has no flavor of its own, so it will add to the flavor of your food. And when they hydrate, they magnify the taste of the dish they have been added to.

    1. So true! and they are like awesome and weird in a really good way! Never thought about how they magnify the flavor! Good point!
