Berry Peachy Smoothy
Summer is definitely full swing here and it is suppose to be around 105 by the end of the week. O the joys of living in southern Illinois! Blueberries, blackberries, and peaches are all in season right now and boy are they delicious. We picked our berries and got local peaches the other day and I thought it would be perfect in a smoothie! Perfect for the hot weather!
Peachy Berry Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of blackberries
1 peach cut up I leave the skins on (that's were a lot of the nutrients are)
1/2 cup cut up frozen bananas (or you can substitute a regular banana and some ice cubes instead
3/4 cup milk of choice. I use almond milk since I'm allergic to normal milk
(Optional) 1 Tbs chia seeds. If you can't handle a lot of seeds I would forgo this.
Directions:
Place ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Add more milk if need be. Optional, add a dollop of delicious coconut whipped cream and some shredded coconut! Enjoy on a nice summer day! Or how I normally enjoy it... Rushing out of the house late for work.

the smoothy looks yummy! Question, do all smoothy recipes have bananas in them? I can't eat bananas....can I use something else?

A lot of smoothy recipes do but you don't have to use bananas. You could forgo them all together or use any kind of frozen fruit really! Just one that ripe and is sweet so you don't have to add sugar. Hope this helps Coleen!
DeleteThat sounds delicious! I haven't tried the dark chocolate kind yet! I usually just add sugar and coco powder to the original! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI am loving smoothies this Summer. This version sounds so good!
