Halloween, My hubs Birthday, & Awesome Homemade Pizza

Happy Halloween! This really isn't my favorite holiday by far, but since starting to date my now husband I've had to learn to like it a little. Because Halloween is his birthday (his mom's is Valentines day, they are just a holiday kind of family I guess. Watch we will have kids on Christmas and Easter!) When he was a kid he loved it since it was always like a big party on this day. Well he still kinda loves it! Since we don't have a lot of extra money he really only asked for 1 thing this year. Actually, its something he asks for and gets every year... Pizza. I'm sure your thinking what a weird thing to ask for (I still think that), but he loves Chicago pizza.

So this year in order to save money and still give him what he wants I made it from scratch... I've never made sauce before so it was a little bit daunting. It was actually really easy and I got the recipe for the sauce recipe from Life Blessons and the pizza dough from here (made in the bread maker of course). To the sauce I added some extra Italian seasoning and about 1-2 Tbs of sugar, because my hubby likes a sweeter sauce. Also, I only used half of the dough and stuck the other half in the freezer for future use, yay freezer cooking! Well here it is.... The beautiful pizza that was seriously tasty! Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and my husband even agreed!

So making sauce wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be and we will definitely make it again in the future!

Your probably thinking today is Halloween and this post was technically written before then! We had to celebrate his birthday the day before because we have international small group at our church on Mondays. O well it was still fun! For dessert we had homemade vanilla ice cream. Recipe to come in the next post!
